The ♥ Behind Embodhi
Hi, I’m Susann
For many years, my identity was shaped by my career in the luxury travel industry. I worked as a travel designer, exploring the world and crafting extraordinary journeys for others. During that time I was fortunate to visit more than 45 countries, and the spirit of exploration has always been an important part of who I am.
But in 2020, when the world came to an unexpected standstill, I lost my job—and with it the identity I thought defined me.
On the surface I kept things together, but internally I felt lost. Like many people faced with uncertainty, I initially tried to escape the discomfort rather than face it. That period eventually forced me to look more honestly at myself and the patterns I had relied on to cope.
On 1st January 2021, I decided to stop drinking alcohol for a year. What began as a personal challenge became a turning point. As the months passed, I realised that alcohol had never truly supported my wellbeing, and I chose not to return to it. That decision opened the door to a deeper relationship with myself.
Around the same time, I began turning more consistently toward practices that helped me navigate difficult emotions in healthier ways—movement, breathwork, meditation, and time in nature. While I had encountered many of these practices earlier in life through silent retreats and spiritual exploration, this was the first time they became part of my everyday life.
Over the years that followed, these tools slowly transformed the way I relate to myself and the world. What started as a personal path of healing and curiosity eventually led me to train as a health coach, yoga teacher, and breathwork facilitator, and to explore the profound impact of embodied practices on the nervous system and emotional wellbeing.
Then, in late 2025, another unexpected moment of pause arrived. A serious calf injury forced me to step away from teaching and from the physical practices I had relied on. Once again, life invited me to slow down and listen more deeply. Breathwork, meditation, and gentle awareness became my anchors, reminding me that transformation doesn’t come from knowing the tools; it comes from embodying them.
This realisation is at the heart of EMBODHI.
The name combines two ideas that guide my work: embodiment and awakening. It reflects the understanding that meaningful change happens when insight moves beyond the mind and becomes lived experience in the body.
Today, the practices I share - yoga, breathwork, sound, and nervous system work - are not about fixing or improving ourselves. They are invitations to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover the innate inner wisdom that already lives within us.
While I will always be an explorer of the world, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to step away from the expectations of who I thought I needed to be, and instead explore the most meaningful journey of all: discovering who I truly am.Through EMBODHI, my intention is to create spaces where others can begin that journey for themselves.
